Jo, our Business Development Manager, got married this summer and we couldn’t be happier for her! On 1st August 2024 Jo married her high school sweet heart, Jason, at a local registry office. She said ‘I do’ surrounded by her closest family and is continuing her celebrations all summer long. The newlyweds are heading off on an epic 3-week European road trip for their honeymoon. Midway through the trip they are meeting up with 50 of their closest friends and family for their dream Italian wedding celebration!
Jo and Jason’s love story…
Jo and Jason’s love story starts way back in reception at primary school. Jason’s curly blonde hair must have been memorable as 12 years later they started dating. Jason is a drummer and owns a local music school – Gumbley’s. After almost 10 years together, lots of lovely holidays, living together since lockdown and the arrival of their furry son Dexter the Cockapoo… Jason popped the question last June. Jason outdid himself, and surprised Jo with a trip she’ll never forget to Lake Como, Italy. He packed her bags, cancelled her gym session and secretly secured her annual leave with Mel! Mel then had the tricky task of keeping Jason’s big secret for months, which proved especially tricky on the Active Hands trip to AOTA in the US! The moment finally arrived and Jason had successfully flown Jo to Italy, only forgetting to pack her hairbrush! Jason proposed on a boat in the middle of Lake Como. The ring was bit too small, but nevertheless, Jo said YES!
They’ll be joined in Italy by Jo’s Mum, Cathy and best friend Millie who both work for Active Hands. The office will be quieter than usual this August! We want to wish Jo and Jason a very happy life together as Mr and Mrs Gumbley and can’t wait to hear all about their wedding celebrations when Jo’s back in the office in September!
