Icing cakes can be difficult, particularly if you have limited hand function. Traditional icing bags require two steady hands to operate. And if you don’t have a firm grip on the top of the bag, the icing spills out in a big blob!

This Icing Pen can be used one-handed, or with two hands for those with limited hand function. A slot holds the top of the bag in place, which keeps the icing in the bag. Press gently on the lever to squeeze the icing out. The variety of tips allow you to ice fine lines or dots, stars and more.

Baking is a great hobby for adults and children. The result is tasty too!

How to Use the Icing Pen

1. Cut your icing bag so that the inner coupler comes to the edge of the bag when inserted. This is likely to be around 5″ off the top of a standard size icing bag, and about 1″ off the bottom. You might choose to get reusable icing bags. You can cut reusable bags to size once and then wash them in the dishwasher ready for the next use.
2. Insert the inner coupler into the bag. Fit the tip against it, twisting into place with the cap.
3. Fill the bag to around 2/3 full with your icing, and fit it into your Icing Pen.
4. Lift the lever, twist the top of the bag, and put it through the opening at the top of the pen. When you lower the lever it will hold the pen in place, and you are ready to decorate!

Baking is a great activity to enjoy solo or with the family. If you have reduced hand function due to Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke, Limb Difference or any other disability you may struggle with some baking tasks.
